Carbon Trust Certification

Blue Tree Strategies recently completed one of North America's first product level carbon footprints to be certified by The Carbon Trust.  The Carbon Trust is an independent, non-profit company created by the U.K. government to work with businesses to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy. 

By utilizing the Carbon Trust certification process and their product carbon footprinting standard, PAS 2050, Blue Tree Strategies and Portland, OR based StalkMarket Products calculated the GHG emissions of StalkMarket's line of bagasse plates and bowls.  By calculating the carbon emissions from the entire supply chain of these products, Stalkmarket is now able to identify the best areas to make strategic investments in reducing their product related carbon footprint. 

Carbon accounting is increasingly relevant and valuable to businesses for stakeholder engagement and risk management.
